What to Expect at Your First Appointment

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Lots of people put off calling a real estate agent because they think it means they're committing to something. It doesn't. A first appointment with me is just a conversation. I'm Josue Mayfield, MRP, with Big Bexar Realty Group, brokered by Real Broker, LLC, and here's how that first conversation usually goes.

Step 1: Pick a time that works for you

Go to my Appointments page and choose a time for a phone call. You can also call or text (210) 875-0155 or email BigBexarRG@gmail.com.

Step 2: We talk about where you are

You don't need to prepare anything special. I'll ask a few simple questions:

  • Are you thinking about buying, selling, or both?
  • What's your rough timeline? "Someday" is a perfectly good answer.
  • What matters most to you, like your commute, the size of the home, the yard, or being close to certain places?
  • What questions have been on your mind?

If you're buying for the first time, that's completely fine. We'll take it one step at a time, and no question is too basic.

Step 3: I explain how the process works

I'll give you a plain-language overview of what buying or selling in Texas looks like from start to finish. I'll also go over a state form called Information About Brokerage Services. Texas requires agents to share it, and it explains the different ways an agent can work with you. You can find a link to it in the footer of my website.

If you're buying, you can read more on Buying a Home. If you're selling, see Selling Your Home. If military orders are part of the picture, Military Relocation covers how I help with the real estate side of a PCS.

Step 4: You decide what's next

When we finish talking, you might want to start looking, put together a plan for selling, or just think it over. All of those are good outcomes. I'd rather you feel informed than rushed.

Ready when you are

Whenever you're ready, schedule a time to talk, call or text (210) 875-0155, or email BigBexarRG@gmail.com. I'm glad to help.
