Homes in Boerne

Boerne is home for me. I'm Josue Mayfield, MRP, a licensed Texas Realtor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran with Big Bexar Realty Group, brokered by Real Broker, LLC. I live and work here, and I help buyers and sellers in Boerne, around San Antonio, and across the Hill Country.

On this page you'll find the basics about where Boerne is, some public places you'll likely get to know, and how I can help with your move.

About the area

Boerne is the county seat of Kendall County. It's about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio, where Interstate 10 and US 87 meet Cibolo Creek. Its roots go back to German settlers in the mid-1800s, and the town was laid out and named Boerne in 1852.

Downtown is built around Main Street, a 1.1-mile stretch of historic buildings, shops, restaurants, and galleries called the Hill Country Mile. Main Plaza is in the middle of it. The Boerne Visitors Center is one block north at 282 N. Main Street and has free trail maps.

Cibolo Creek runs through town. Paved trails follow its banks within walking distance of Main Street, and the Cibolo Trail has signs explaining local history. About a mile from downtown, the Cibolo Nature Center protects more than 160 acres with over six miles of trails through prairie, marsh, and creekside woods. It's free and open daily from dawn to dusk.

Boerne City Lake Park offers fishing, non-motorized boating, picnic areas, and a disc golf course. Cave Without A Name, a living cave with six major rooms, is also in the Boerne area. About 13 miles east on Texas 46, Guadalupe River State Park sits along the Kendall and Comal county line.
